#29 – Getting Mobile

During this period, I took my first refresher driving lessons – 17 years after I first passed. What overcome the 17-year inertia of not driving was really Baby L. I want to be independent and be able to bring her around town on my own. I guess the only way to do this is to drive on my own and not rely on others. S graciously bought me the refresher lessons as Christmas gift. So, there’s really no reason or excuse to procrastinate anymore.

S was very thoughtful. He looked up some private instructors for me, as I didn’t want to waste travelling time to driving centres (not to mention taking time away from Baby L). It was not easy to find one who was willing to come right to the door-step but we eventually found one! Mr. Nai is a retired driving tester and is now giving refresher classes on a part-time basis.

Mr. Nai turned out to be a great find! Not only is he patient, he also understands that I had very little confidence driving since it had been a quite a while I last touched the wheel! With such a great teacher, I was scooting around more confidently in no time.
